the restaurant area serves as a TEST to help me learn cutscenes. upon entering the restaurant you are greeted with text. and the scene changes. pushing the gameboy hardware to the limits of what it can display.
PATCH NOTES AND BUG FIXES!!
*NEW TITLE SCREEN ART (AHH IM SO HAPPY I GOT THIS TO WORK)**
*fixed a bug where you could activate any trigger in any order, made it so you have to enable the previous trigger to activate the next.*
*Fixed a bug where you got soft locked in a dialogue menu if your actor was moving during an interaction. made it so all background movements are frozen BEFORE interaction. thus preventing dialogue spam and soft lock*
*fixed dialogue error that made the entry text/any text larger than 4 lines tall duplicate and glitch*
*fixed some triggers so they're more fluid and less janky/glitchy.*
*fixed a bug which made logo and splash scenes hard to decipher/look at due to tile mashing*
*fixed new area pre release, I had some issues getting it to play and perform as i wanted it to so I had to find a loophole/workaround.*
*added in-between cutscenes for splash screens with higher detail to reduce tile mashing. this helped reduce the stress with on screen text.*
*during the creation of 4.0.4 I noticed a bug that could occur when you saved the game in the shop, exited the area, saved again, quit the game and loaded the file and pressed resume, instead of being in the main area or the dev area or even the cloud area it would force respawn you in the shop. this was fixed before the release of 4.0.4*
KNOWN GLITCHES OR BUGS (patched + unpatched)
*FIXED**
*scenes would glitch if there was too much detail on screen + text, fixed in update 4.0.1*
*new cutscenes may be slow depending on what else is going on on screen, fixed in 4.0.1*
*enemy range was larger than their hitbox causing issues when trying to maneuver past or jump over them, fixed in 4.0.2*
*some NPC's can reach you from farther than their hitbox should reach in 2d platformer areas as well as in the cloud teaser. patched in 4.0.3*
*new menu screen prevented saving/loading in certain scenes, patched in 4.0.4 pre release*
*quick saves acting weird if you're in a certain area, patched in 4.0.4 pre release*
*quit menu now replays the music instead of looping the wrong track, patched in 4.0.4 pre release*
*arrow actors on menu screen would bug out and sprites wouldnt appear??? idk what fixed it but I copied the sprites onto themselves and it fixed itself, patched in 4.0.4 with possibility of being an issue in a later update*
*UNFIXED**
*some text still duplicates at the beginning if too much is happening on screen, searching for a way to summarize text in a more efficient way. possibly going to make a text size change?*
*game can crash if you overload it with inputs, can currently only be done with a frame perfect scene change + menu open + npc interact, currently unpatched, not likely to be an issue for more 'casual' players.*
NOTES FROM THE DEVELOPER: I am a single developer making just about everything by hand, excluding sprites, music, and I've based my game around the feedback provided by friends and family.

Version 4.0.4 brings the introduction of new music, themes, and menus for the player to interact with and discover. new easter eggs coming in a much later update, likely around 4.0.7 or 5.0.0
when downloading the .gb file, you're able to flash an original gameboy cartridge to play on the original hardware. alternatively you can play using an emulator such as delta (IOS and Android), R4 cards (ds/dsi emulation), or BGB (pc emulation)
